Superintendent’s Annual High School Art Show
Butte County High School art teachers were invited to submit up to five student works for the art show, sponsored by the BCOE Visual and Performing Arts Program with funding from the California County Superintendents’ Arts Initiative. This year, there were 90 submissions, each judged by a three-member panel that awarded 1st, 2nd, 3rd place and an honorable mention awards in three categories: Demonstrated Skill in a Medium, Innovation, Exploration, and a Best in Show award.
Special thanks to the participating schools and their Visual Art and Media Art teachers: Chico High School, Durham High School, CORE Butte Charter, Come Back Butte Charter, Gridley High School, Hearthstone School, Inspire School of Arts & Sciences, Las Plumas High School, Oroville High School, Paradise High School, and Pleasant Valley High School. Additional thanks to the Turner Print Museum and the Chico State Department of Art and Art History, as well as the judges: Cameron Kelly (Chico Art Center Gallery Director), Vanessa Cantu (Curator, Oroville Museums), and Erin Lackey (Erin Lackey Photography).
