Superintendent’s Annual High School Art Show
BCOE hosted it’s 10TH annual Superintendent’s High School Art Show at Chico State’s A Gallery located in the Arts and Humanities building on the Campus of CSU Chico. The awards reception was held with a live performance by the Durham High School jazz band on February 22. The exhibit is open to the public Tuesdays through Saturdays from 12:00 to 4:00.

Butte County High School art teachers were invited to submit up to five student works for the art show, sponsored by the BCOE Visual and Performing Arts Program with funding from the California County Superintendents’ Arts Initiative. This year, there were 100 submissions, each judged by a two-member panel that awarded 1st, 2nd, 3rd place and an honorable mention awards in three categories: Demonstrated Skill in a Medium, Evidence of Innovation, and Emphasis on Exploration, and a Best in Show award.
