As an Arts Education Specialist my primary job is planning, developing, and instructing a variety of fine art classes (example: design, drawing, jewelry, painting, papermaking, photography, pottery, printmaking, sculpture, etc.) for students K-12. Class instruction includes; providing demonstrations, handouts, lectures, slide presentations, individual instruction, critiques, safety awareness, and modeling a creative mindset.  SEL is embedded in most art lessons.  I can consult with schools that are purchasing art materials and equipment. For staff and parents, I can provide outreach activities, professional development and special events. Outreach and special events activities may include: coordinating a funded workshop series; participating in art related field trips; and coordinating art festivals.
