Carolyn Steele
Carolyn Steele is passionate about music, teaching and kids. She developed classroom ukulele programs at three elementary schools in Paradise, directed elementary choruses, and taught Visual and Performing Arts to 3rd – 6th grade students. She developed a theater program for 9th – 12 th grade students called Musical Production which encouraged students to develop their performing talents. She recently retired from a full and rewarding 37 year teaching career with the Paradise Unified School District where she
received a Teacher of the Year Award. She has been working with the BCOE's Artist in the Classroom program for the past two years teaching students throughout Butte County how to play the ukulele.
Carolyn has many possibilities for lessons depending on what is desired and appropriate for the grade level. She has access to classroom sets of ukuleles and rhythm instruments to utilize for lessons.
She is also available to work with classroom teachers to learn the basics of the ukulele and how to teach large groups using Google Slide Lessons.
